Reading Girl Scouts : Family Partnership

Funding Girl Scouts of Eastern Massacusetts Council

For ninety years, Girl Scouting has helped each generation of girls face new challenges.

As with any non-profit organization, Girl Scouting relies heavily on donations and contributions for its financial well-being. The opportunities offered to the girls in our community can only exist with the continued and expanded adult generated funding. The family of every GSEM member is asked to give an annual financial contribution to support the program, services and facilities provided to the girls. While many families give their time and efforts, the council must also ask each family to financially support the program in order to ensure a sound future for Girl Scouting in our community. Community individuals and businesses also play an important role in the fiscal health of our organization. Each year, GSEM Council hosts a wide variety of events and campaigns; including Annual Giving, Camperships, and the Friends and Family Partnerships. GSEM also offers Planned Giving, Endowments, and other long term opportunities for giving.

By donating to the council, girls receive the message they are valued. Donations make it clear to them just how important they are. Your donation makes it possible to help girls experience the outstanding opportunities available to them through the Girl Scout program. As a general rule, gifts given to the council are tax deductible.
